The New York Times is seeking a Summer Technology Intern to join the iOS, CORE Platform team.
What It’s All About…
NYTimes mobile team is an award-winning digital media group, which develops new platforms and technologies. The iOS team is responsible for our native, Objective-C iPhone and iPad apps. We are responsible for pushing the envelope of technical innovation within our mobile products, and we take a leading role in helping to shape the future of The New York Times. Be a part of the same team that was onstage at the Apple iPad product announcement keynote, blazing a trail within the mobile media ecosystem.
What You’ll Do…
The New York Times is looking for a bright and motivated intern to work on the flagship reader apps for iPhone and iPad. You will work on the iOS engineering team to design, write, and test code that will enhance and refine our products that are used by millions of readers everyday. You will pair up with engineers, move fast, and help us solve interesting problems. You will practice agile processes and review code (and have your code reviewed). Oh, and you will use GitHub. A lot.

Recommended skills / characteristics include the following:
- Experience programming in Objective-C using Xcode
- Working towards a BS or MS

- Top-notch problem solving skills and solid judgment
- Ideally you will have an interest in digital media
- Passion for the NYT

- This is a paid 10 week internship, 40 hours a week
- Start date is early June to mid August
- Location is The New York Times headquarters in midtown Manhattan
