The New York Times is seeking a Summer Technology Intern to join our Games team.
What It’s All About…
The New York Times Games team is a cross-skilled, lean and agile team, where each developer is responsible for tasks from software architecture to production support. We deliver top of the line applications for iOS and the Web, building and maintaining systems that integrate with App Store, E-commerce and internal tools.
Who Should Apply…
We’re looking for front-end and iOS developers, so if you’re familiar with JavaScript (bonus points for experience with backbone) or Objective-C and want to spend your summer working on the NYTimes puzzle apps, we’d love to hear from you.
Recommended skills / characteristics include the following:
- Pursuing a four year Comp Sci degree or equivalent
- Experience programming PHP
- Comfortable in Unix/Linux environments
- Experience with full product life cycles, rapid prototyping, and interactive product development
- Solid knowledge of SQL and database optimization
- Top-notch problem solving skills and solid judgment
- Ideally you will have an interest in digital media
- Passion for the NYT
The Gritty Details…
- This is a paid 10 week internship, 40 hours a week
- Start date is early June to mid August
- Location is The New York Times headquarters in midtown Manhattan
