The New York Times marketing and consumer insight groups are growing and looking for star interns to help us out over the summer. Both teams play integral roles in the circulation business, helping internal stakeholders achieve their revenue, subscription, and traffic goals across products. What You’ll Do…
- Work alongside NYT Marketing Manager to assist in developing tests and marketing programs to improve the performance of our Digital and International Winback marketing channels. Winback refers to past subscribers and this is one of our most efficient marketing segments. Work may include competitive monitoring and market research.
- Work alongside NYT Marketing Manager to assist in developing tests and marketing programs to improve our efforts around “promo jumpers” – or subscribers who frequently take advantage of promotions rather than paying a reasonable rate for a NYT subscription.
- Work alongside NYT Marketing Manager to assist in developing tests and marketing programs to improve the effectiveness of our Upgrade channels for both Home Delivery and Digital subscribers. Work may include competitive monitoring and market research.
- Assist NYT Marketing team with coordinating the deployment of weekly email campaigns; track, monitor and report metrics to Management/Marketing team.
Who Should Apply…
- Pursuing a relevant BS or BA from an accredited 4-year university or college (Marketing is a plus)
· Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
· Strong verbal and written communication/presentation skills
· Familiarity with NYTimes.com and/or The New York Times newspaper
· Academic or prior internship experience in Marketing, Direct Marketing or Digital Marketing.
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment
· Experience in providing analytics to inform of trends, competitive analysis and market research
· Proficiency with the MS Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
The Gritty Details…
- This is a paid 10 week internship (12 weeks for MBA students)
- This is full-time, 40 hours a week (35 hours for Marketing roles)
- Location is The New York Times headquarters in midtown Manhattan
