What It’s All About…

The New York Times marketing and consumer insight groups are growing and looking for star interns to help us out over the summer. Both teams play integral roles in the circulation business, helping internal stakeholders achieve their revenue, subscription, and traffic goals across products. If you are a current college student with superior academics and a major or concentration in brand or consumer marketing, or in research and analytics, consider applying for an opportunity to collaborate with a group of dynamic professionals in a world-class media organization, which sets the standard in journalism.

What You’ll Do…
- Assist social media team with competitive research and analytics
- Research new social platforms for Times journalism to thrive and identify areas of opportunities for growth on existing social channels
- Assist in rewriting headlines and social copy
- Remix existing Times Video content into new formats for offsite distribution (i.e. resurfacing evergreen content around topically relevant/editorial events)
- Track video pitches to digital partners/publications/social media sites, compile weekly “promotional video highlights”
- Keep up to date on trending topics within Google, Facebook and Twitter
- Aggregate “influencers” (i.e. editorial contacts, Twitter handles, Facebook groups, bloggers etc.) into a comprehensive Google Doc by site/company and interest topic/vertical--collaborate with Newsroom Audience Development team on this endeavor

Who Should Apply…
- Pursuing a relevant BS or BA from an accredited 4-year university or college (Marketing is a plus)

· Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills

· Strong verbal and written communication/presentation skills
- Familiarity with NYTimes.com and Times Video content
- Background in marketing/social media/digital video/digital video products , and well versed in brand use of social media
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment
- Experience in providing analytics to inform of trends, competitive analysis and market research

· Proficiency with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and social media platforms
- Proficiency with Adobe Premiere is a plus

The Gritty Details…
- This is a paid 10 week internship (12 weeks for MBA students)
- This is full-time, 40 hours a week (35 hours for Marketing roles)
- Location is The New York Times headquarters in midtown Manhattan
