As a Boston Globe/Boston.com Recruitment Sales Rep you will work to grow advertising revenue from Boston-area businesses. You should be fearless in your approach to print and online advertising. This position is responsible for generating direct sales in newspaper special sections, magazines, Boston.com and Monster.com; attaining/exceeding revenue goals and customer satisfaction objectives.
Requirements:
- Enthusiastically sell consultative advertising and marketing programs, meet and exceed established sales goals and manage an account list of local employers
- Sell Monster products, including job listing packages, resume database products.
- Develop and operate a profitable book of business through in-person calls, correspondence, and telephone contact
- Prospect for new business via outbound calls and proactive touches (ex. email)
- Re-engage lapsed customers
- Generate awareness and interest in the Boston Globe and Boston.com’s full suite of products and services
- Identify customer needs and use a consultative approach to drive sales via effective media plans.
- Maintain a basic knowledge of employment market activities including competitive products, pricing and policies, new technology, product specifications and possible new products.
- Consistently follow standard operating procedures and best practices in order to maximize and increase the success of every business contact.

Qualifications:
- BS/BA Degree
- 3 + years of outside sales experience in print, or online sales
- Existing relationships within Boston recruitment market preferred
- Work experience at an online job board highly desirable
- Outstanding prospecting, scripting and lead sourcing skills.
- Must be able to manage a territory in an organized and thorough manner
- Strong communication, questioning, listening, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- Work effectively in a team environment, exerting positive influence and serving as a team resource
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications: Word, Excel, Power Point
- Comfort and familiarity with CRM systems, especially Sales Force
