Creative Director, Adv for Finance, Auto, Tech Job (New York City, NY, US)

The Creative Director, Advertising: Finance, Business & Technology’s main responsibility is to support the Advertising Sales team by guiding the development of creative integrated solutions for advertisers with a focus on innovation and application of new platforms, experiences and technologies. This position is responsible for program development and visualization across all platforms and for working directly with the Sales, Ad Product, Digital Product and The New York Times Content Studio to conceptualize, articulate and execute programs for advertising clients in the Financial Services, Technology, Real Estate and Automotive categories.

Responsibilities:

- Manage a team that conceives integrated programs for clients, including creative ideation, visualization and mock-up creation.
- Articulate relevant RFP responses quickly and efficiently.
- Serve as a resource for information about products across all platforms: digital, print, mobile, events.
- Create dynamic go-to-market materials.
- Partner with Sales in presenting winning proposals and pitches
- Serve as a resource for category knowledge and marketplace trends.
- Guide team to work with any relevant areas of the organization (sales account managers, research, product marketing & advertising platform innovation, advertising operations, circulation, production, etc.) in the development of programs that are strategically grounded in the needs of the client.
- Execute elements of sold programs as necessary.
- Work with team and account manager to monitor the successful execution of any sold programs, trouble-shooting issues, and the post-mortem evaluation of the effectiveness of the program.
- Manage promotional aspects of assigned categories when relevant.

Qualifications:

- BA or BS.
- 7 - 10 years of Creative, Interactive Design and/or Multi-platform design within a Marketing context
- Strong background in creative or business writing and/or design a must.
- Experience in Financial Services and Business to Business Marketing strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of creating and editing winning proposals and pitches
- Extensive experience in working in collaborative sales processes, including the interaction required in cross-disciplinary teams.
- Dynamic team building, leadership, and public speaking skills required.
- Strong Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Keynote skills required
- Strong understanding of web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS) ideal
