The New York Times is looking for a SDET technical leader to drive the envisioning, development, delivery of different engineering test frameworks spanning across different technologies, on-premises and cloud services from testing perspective. This position will offer you the ability to drive the Test Architecture and integration best practices across teams. To that end, we are looking for a person who combines technical depth/breadth and great cross-group skills.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for technology, a technical background, and possess a strong interest in application/services integration technologies. They will be an experienced and high performing SDET capable of testing a large & complex web and services applications. The person in this role will provide technical leadership to the test team, authoring test plan, test framework for large scale application.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to the test strategy & design for an exciting new project.
- Develop innovate solutions to ensure maximum impact of the team’s work.
- Develop performance test plan and execute tests using loadrunner or jmeter.
- Deliver solid results for test implementation and infrastructure.
- Gain deep understanding of language implementations and the web developer mindset.
- Collaborate with an outstanding team of colleagues.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science and 5 years of experience testing web, mobile and services applications.
- Experience in designing and developing generic test automation framework
- Strong knowledge of Selenium and Javascript, Python, Java or Ruby
- Experience in building large automated test suites for web applications using selenium and using javascript, python, java or ruby.
- 3+ years of SDET / Development experience.
- Deep knowledge of web technologies, http protocol and databases.
- Experience with open source test frameworks like testng, capybara, internjs or mocha is required.
- Exceptional interpersonal relationship and communication skills, verbal and written (peers, executives, cross culture)
- Experience in testing large scale services, or performance/scale/stress is highly desirable
- Prior architect level experience or interested in growing architecture skills
- Strong sense of teamwork, personal integrity, responsibility and accountability.
