Junior Copywriter Job (Boston, MA, US)

BGM Creative is The Boston Globe’s and Boston.com’s in-house advertising agency. We conceive and executive advertising campaigns across all media--digital, print, and broadcast--for paying advertisers as well as for marketing campaigns to promote our own brands and products. The junior copywriter would work closely with the team’s designers and developers to create high-quality copy for our campaigns. There is also potential for collaboration with our newsroom and editorial colleagues.

We are a fun, collaborative group that produces our best work when we leverage each other’s knowledge, so the right candidate will be someone can thrive in a team environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Seamlessly transition between writing for B2B and B2C audiences
- Perform basic copyediting and proofreading (AP Stylebook basics a plus)
- Work independently to meet tight deadlines
- Work closely with designers to produce high-quality copy
- Participate in team brainstorms as needed
- Communicate open and effectively
- Help work on special advertising sections produced in-house

QUALIFICATIONS
- Desire to start a career as a copywriting in an agency environment
- A four-year degree in writing, communications, advertising, or journalism
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Calm under pressure
- Relevant internship or co-op experience in a writing/advertising role
- Background/work in journalism/reporting a big plus
- Knowledge of content management systems and workflows also a plus
- 2-3 writing samples or an online portfolio to submit with his/her resume and cover letter
