How does this stack up to your current situation?
The UGC Team is responsible for Social Media on the NYTimes.com website as well Notifications to users through both the website and mobile apps (this includes Breaking News). As a member of the UGC team your impact will be felt daily by millions of users throughout the world. We are looking for a developer who is devoted to optimizing and scaling web applications and code for high availability and minimal footprint. At least 3-5 years of professional software development experience is preferred.
You should have a strong understanding of objected oriented software design patterns and agile methodologies, as well as a desire to work in a test-driven development environment. A mastery of various programming languages including PHP, Python and Java and a strong understanding of server-side development as well as Unix/Linux environments is a must have for this position.
