The Product Manager will serve as the critical bridge between the business needs of our Advertisers and the engineers who build Advertising platforms, and they products they enable. The Product Manager will work with sales teams and customers to understand current and future market needs, as well as with engineering throughout the development process. The Product Manager is ultimately responsible for bringing products to market and ensuring a successful execution of the strategy. This highly collaborative role will work across Sales, Product, Technology, Design, and the Newsroom to deliver results: ad experiences, capabilities, and tools that match marketer needs and increase revenue.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with advertising, product, technology, design, marketing, and the newsroom to produce requirements for platforms and the advertising products they enable.
Define, update, and communicate the Advertising Product roadmap on an ongoing basis, for Advertising and other internal stakeholders. Work with crossfunctional stakeholders to drive requirements, design, business rules, and specs for ad products.
Drive project delivery through effective use of internal/client status meetings and maintenance of project plan milestones.
Serve as a resource for educating the Advertising stakeholders about new ad product opportunities and technologies. Provide information to Sales Development and Product marketing teams about upcoming and new opportunities.
Stay abreast of the advertising marketplace, competitive set, and digital trends, particularly in regard to ad product capabilities and sales opportunities.
Meet regularly with Team Director and Managers to understand project and program status.
Qualifications:
3+ years of product management experience at a company managing product or project responsibilities of consumer facing products.
Knowledge of internet technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript and server side technologies). Experience with Content Management systems, Ad Operations technologies (DFP, FreeWheel), and Data Management Platforms (Krux, BlueKai, Lotame) are essential.
Strong skills in data analysis and interpretation, and business case development to drive decisions and improve products.
Understanding of ad operations and digital media landscape required.
Excellent customer experience intuition; demonstrated success in creating innovative and user friendly, customer facing features and communicating these through wire frames and mock ups.
Ability to work collaboratively in a highly matrixed organization to create a result driven, team oriented environment.
Speak comfortably in a variety of settings including one on one and in front of large groups.
Willingness to roll up the sleeves and do whatever is necessary to meet team goals
Nimbleness and comfort with ambiguity; a track record of responding quickly to rapidly evolving threats and opportunities.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Bachelor's degree; technical background preferred.
