Advertising Program Manager Job (New York City, NY, US)

We are looking for a talented Program Manager who wants to be part of the team working on the next generation of digital advertising products across web and mobile apps for The New York Times. Our ideal candidate has worked as a program manager in an internet business, where they have had strong interactions with both Product and Design groups as well as advertising, and is looking for a challenging position where their skills can be utilized to help build the next generation of products at The New York Times. Candidate should have worked with both waterfall and agile methodologies and must believe that their skills and personality can fit into a close knit team. Must have strong personality, and be able to provide team leadership while also working within an Agile team based framework.

Responsibilities:

- Oversees all Technology related Project Management activities for digital advertising
- Acts as day to day project manager on major initiatives
- Work closely with Product Directors and Technology Leads to formulate team roadmap for the business line and ensure that the roadmap is followed and adjusted as needed
- Takes lead role in ensuring that team adheres to published roadmap and helps team adjust to keep them on track
- Act as advocate for Project Management Process within the group
- Ensure that their Director or Manager is keep informed of key decisions made within group and report status to him/her on a regular basis
- Work closely with fellow Program Managers and Directors to ensure that cross team issues are dealt with swiftly
- Participate in Weekly Program Manager/Director’s Meeting to discuss any Cross Team Issues
- Work closely with the business stakeholders to ensure that all projects are moving forward in a timely manner and to remove any barriers to success on the business side
- Perform manager role when there are multiple PMs in the group including day to day management, goal setting and management, conflict resolution, work direction, and career development
- Act as liaison between the teams stakeholders and technology to ensure that product goals are clearly defined and are being met
- Work closely with Director of Product to ensure that all business needs are being met
- Work closely with Dev Lead/Director to ensure that technology constraints such as resourcing issues or tech feasibility issues are being properly communicated to business owners.
- Work closely with Product and Technology leadership to ensure that Project Management has a strong voice at the table

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree required
- Must have experience in working with various development and project management methodologies including Waterfall and Agile
- Must have experience in working with Digital organizations
- Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work with various groups to resolve conflicts
- Must have experience in working in a fast paced environment, and be able to handle multiple projects at the same time
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, negotiating, influencing, facilitation, organizational, prioritization, decision making, and conflict resolution skills
- Must have experience with managing project managers
