Product Manager, Corporate and Education Subscription Products - Temp Job (New York City, NY, US)

The New York Times is looking for a product lead to manage the development of its digital subscription products for the Corporate (B2B) and Education (B2B & B2C) markets, two of fastest growing subscription markets for the Company. The B2B digital subscription program allows colleges, companies, hotels, and other organizations to provide digital access to the New York Times to their students, employees, members, or customers, while Education B2C products are targeted to individual students, teachers, professors and faculty.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing successful digital media products, strong analytic and strategic skills and a desire to help define the next generation of digital news subscription products.

Responsibilities:

- Work with the marketing and sales teams to develop the strategy and roadmap for our Corporate and Education subscription products
- Identify, document and prioritize product requirements based on user research/user feedback, market trends and business goals
- Work closely with engineering and project management teams to manage the product development cycle and execute on the roadmap
- Write use cases and specifications for product and features, using via JIRA, Confluence and other tools
- Define, monitor and analyze key performance metrics, clearly communicate what they represent and use them to improve our products, generate incremental revenue and identify new opportunities

Qualifications:

- At least 3 years of product management experience in digital media; preference will be given to candidates with experience working on B2B or consumer subscription businesses and/or on education products
- Ability to synthesize customer research, user data, industry trends and internal requirements into an actionable product roadmap
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; proven ability to guide cross-functional teams through influence versus direct management
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Experience with Agile software development methodology
- Willingness to roll up the sleeves and do whatever is necessary to meet team goals
- Excellent customer experience intuition; demonstrated success in creating innovative and user-friendly, customer-facing features and communicating these through wire frames and mock ups
- Bachelor's degree required
