The New York Times is seeking a Senior Analyst of Business Development to join the Strategy & Development department. . The department is accountable to the CEO, with a mission to identify, analyze, recommend and execute major value creation opportunities in partnership with The New York Times’s executive leadership. It performs all strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, venture investing and business development activities for the Company. The position reports to the Executive Director of Business Development.
The Senior Analyst of Business Development supports strategic partnerships and new business opportunities that will deliver value to the business by increasing digital subscriptions, driving advertising revenue and monetizing digital content. This requires close coordination with internal operators and participation in deal negotiation.
Responsibilities:
- Research and financial modeling in support of new and existing deals across business development and venture investing
- Preparation of overviews of key strategic partners
- Support management of deal pipeline
- Market research in support of strategic initiatives and investment goals
- Evaluate new business/partner proposals and develop recommendations
- Deal sourcing and negotiation
Requirements:
- 2+ years of relevant digital media experience (business development, consulting, product management preferred)
- Contribute ideas and energy to a growing team
- Understanding of contracts (e.g. licensing, services and marketing agreements, etc.)
- Strong interest in the competitive landscape and business environment impacting mobile, video, social and content monetization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- BS/BA is required
