The New York Times is seeking Summer Interns to join the Ad Platforms team.
What It’s All About…
The New York Times is seeking an intellectually curious and passionate intern who is eager to dive into the various technologies and products that support the digital advertising business. If you have background and interest digital media, technology, and advertising and would like to contribute and learn about their intersection for a premium publisher, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
What You’ll Do…
You will collaborate with various stakeholders in the Advertising department to contribute towards and execute projects. With a focus on digital Advertising and the platforms/technologies used to support it, you will gain direct experience with staff in ad operations, yield management, technology, sales and research.
Projects may include (but not limited to):
Digital Ad Product Analysis
As part of our digital ad strategy, the Ad Platform intern will review and update the NYTimes ad product catalog, which includes details of each of our sponsorships, including how each is approached from a sales strategy and ad operations perspective. They may perform some light analysis to determine whether we should continue selling those sponsorships.
Audience Targeting Roadmap
One critical component to digital advertising is the ability to deliver the right message to the right user at the same time, using various signals about a user's behavior to define who they are, and what they're interested in. The Ad Platforms intern will help with tasks related to evolving the NYTimes audience targeting capabilities across platforms, helping our Advertisers reach the right audience, and our digital subscription business reach the right prospects.
Recommended skills / characteristics include the following:
· Ability to work in a fast paced environment with extreme attention to detail while maintaining a sense of humor
