The New York Times is seeking a Summer Technology Intern to join the Sugar CRM team.
What It’s All About…
SugarCRM is what powers the NYT customer care agents when someone calls in for subscribing for home delivery news paper or digital subscription. Its an open source platform in PHP and Mysql, and is customized to interact with other internal ecommerce systems and customer data systems. As an intern you will be learning and designing new ways that solves customer care and hence customer needs, and get exposed to the exciting world of CRM!
What You’ll Do…
As a Sugar CRM intern, you’ll be responsible for the following, and more:
· Build new innovative features using JavaScript, PHP and MySQL in SugarCRM framework.
· Connect and expose web services from SugarCRM.
· Design and develop reports based on SugarCRM data.
· Write and maintain test cases.
In addition to the above, it would be nice if you also had experience with the following:
· ElasticSearch, MongoDB, Java

- SVN or GIT
- Have a diverse portfolio; bonus points to those who can point to public projects, preferably open source
- Investigate and propose new technologies and emerging ideas
- Ideally you will have an interest in digital media
- Passion for the NYT
The Gritty Details…
- This is a paid 10 week internship, 40 hours a week
- Start date is early June to mid August
- Location is The New York Times headquarters in midtown Manhattan
