A software developer is required to work on the New York Times state-of-the-art advertising technology projects. New York Times is a world leader in journalism and digital publishing, with advanced web and mobile app platforms. This role requires a developer with solid JavaScript, Node.js, and database skills to work on a suite of ad tech services. The work is based in NY.
Qualifications:
- Strong JavaScript and web development skills
- Strong Node.js skills
- Strong relational database background (Oracle, MySQL or SQL server)
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or similar is a plus
- Working knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra) is a plus
- Python or similar scripting language experience is a plus
- Web Services development experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
- Good communication skills
- Formal Computer Science background
Responsibilities:
- Designs and develops software
- Unit tests developed software
- Ensures developed software is handed off to QA for further testing
- Contributes to peer reviews of software
