Job Description:
T Brand Studio is a new and exciting group within The New York Times that is focused on bringing innovative advertising and branded content products to life for New York Times advertisers.
We are seeking a creative and technology minded individual to collaborate in the development of innovative branded content programs, playing a part in pre-sale concept and post-sale development. This includes development of rapid prototypes for pre-sales, along with collaborating with designers on post sales web production work across multiple platforms and devices. The Developer will work with the design team in a high-speed, fast turn-around environment.
Responsibilities and Key Areas of Accountability:
· Work collaboratively with T Brand Studio to develop innovative content based advertising programs.
- Produce front-end prototypes using web technologies, including but not limited to HTML5, (CSS, JavaScript) for responsive development applications.
- Familiarity with Javascript frameworks such as Backbone, D3, Ajax and JSON API’s.
- Mobile development a plus, but not required.
- Work with the T Brand Studio team on creative and “big idea” development
Requirements:
· Portfolio demonstrating development skills including javascript, web and responsive design.
· Experience with online media, digital-related environment (publisher, brand, or ad agency).
· A creative thinker with the ability to conceptualize innovative advertising programs.
· Proven record of technical knowledge as it relates to web development.
· Proven skill in verbal and written communication and comfortable with pitching ideas.
· Solid understanding of UI/UX design and high interest in investing and developing new experiences for all devices.
· Ability to handle simultaneous small and large projects in a fast paced environment.
