Job Description:
Managerial position in the News Services Division.
Responsibilities:
Versatile editor with strong interest in global news to work on the NYT International Weekly, an insert of condensed Times articles that is produced for 34 clients in 27 countries (http://nytweekly.com) with a total circulation of about 5 million in five languages.
Qualifications:
Must have strong copy editing skills, an understanding of the Times's visual aesthetic, an obsession with maintaining NYT standards and the willingness to take on a variety of tasks, including choosing articles for the section, slotting, approving layouts, writing budgets and responding to clients queries. A second language is a plus. This editor will be working with our remote editing and production group in Gainesville, FL, requiring the ability to manage a team from a distance. Regular hours, M-F, but responding to client e-mails at odd hours is not unusual and is required. Opportunities to contribute to the Lens column, our weekly trends piece, and recruit writers for our signature column, Intelligence. We are also looking to expand our digital presence, so some web skills are a must.
Requirements :
Minimum 7-10 years of related experience.
