Conference Manager Job (New York City, NY, US)

Job Description:

The Conference Manager will be responsible for developing and executing custom Sponsorship programs for New York Times conferences. The position requires a creative, strategic thinker who must have demonstrated experience in developing custom sponsorship programs from concept to execution. Areas of expertise should include senior level project management, event management, and financial responsibility. This individual will possess an in-depth awareness of the event and conference industry and competition in the marketplace. Creativity and ability to think outside the box is a critical element in the success of this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Manager will develop sales presentations and marketing materials for all conferences.
- Manager will create customized proposals for potential Sponsors.
- Manager will conduct prospecting and work with the various Sales teams to guarantee outreach to appropriate companies.
- Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Sponsor activation once the account is sold.
- Manager will be responsible for creating all recaps of the conferences for Sponsors including a video and printed recap.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Proactive planning abilities. Creativity, credibility, and attention to detail. Proven experience juggling complex projects simultaneously. Ability to meet tight deadlines. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to manage and supervise a team, and work effectively in a team environment. Demonstrated fiscal responsibility and computer proficiency, Ability to travel (as business requires).

EXPERIENCE:

College degree required. Ten years experience in events and conferences, preferably in media.
