Job Description:
The manager, web product, is a key member of a team responsible for the product evolution and business performance of www.nytimes.com, our single largest digital property.
Responsibilities:
- Manage product development for core site experiences like the homepage and article page.
- Work closely with the newsroom, advertising, and marketing to ensure that user and commercial interests are balanced and aligned
- Define and execute on product roadmap, together with engineering, design, program management and QA
- Draw on data analysis and product testing to inform product direction and feature prioritization
- Track performance against targets
Qualifications:
- Three to five years of experience at a media company or online business managing product or project responsibilities
- Proven ability to meet and exceed stretch goals
- Thorough understanding of web and mobile products, technologies, development processes and business models in complex and highly scalable contexts
- Passion for building world-class user experiences
- Strong interpersonal, problem solving, negotiating and decision making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor's degree; technical background preferred
